About Waterston

Built on discipline, not guesswork

Waterston was founded on a simple conviction: that clear-headed analysis, consistent process, and honest communication outperform hype and hunches over the long run.

Our Story

Why Waterston exists

Waterston started from a frustration shared by many: too much of the information available to everyday investors is either oversimplified or deliberately confusing. We set out to build something different — a place where methodology is explained plainly, assumptions are stated up front, and nothing is dressed up as a guarantee.

Over time, that starting point grew into a structured way of working. Every piece of analysis we produce follows the same underlying process, so clients know what to expect and can judge our thinking on its own merits, not on confidence alone.

Mission & Values

What guides our work

These principles shape how we build our analysis, how we talk to clients, and how we evaluate our own performance.

Clarity over noise

We favor plain explanations of reasoning over jargon. If an idea can't be explained simply, we don't consider it finished.

Discipline over impulse

Markets reward consistency. We follow a defined process rather than reacting to every headline or short-term swing.

Transparency over promises

We are upfront about limitations and uncertainty. We would rather underpromise than describe outcomes we can't control.

Our Team

A small, focused group

Waterston is run by a compact team that values depth over headcount. Rather than spreading thin across every market, we concentrate our attention on doing a narrower set of things carefully — research, analysis, and clear client communication.

01

Research

Our team gathers and organizes relevant data before forming any view, prioritizing primary sources over secondhand commentary.

02

Analysis

Findings are reviewed internally and tested against alternative explanations before being shared, reducing the influence of any single assumption.

03

Communication

We present conclusions along with their reasoning and caveats, so clients understand not just what we think, but why.

Work with a team that explains itself
